Interior Design by Olivier Lempereur
Stylism & decoration by Hélène Guillon
Life is sweet along the banks of Lake Leman: suspended time, terraced vineyards as far as the eye can see, classified as World Heritage by UNESCO, with the backdrop of the joyous nonchalance of the Swiss. And then there is the breath-taking view.
Welcome to Lutry, where Olivier decorated this lovely house, with plenty of nods to the Lavaux region and its rich, historical past.
A mountain spirit is in evidence, in the heavy, rough beams, comforting fireplaces and warm materials, but rather than the traditional codes of the Swiss chalet, a younger, bolder décor was preferred.
A huge, full-height picture window facing the lake lets in the light, the volumes are enhanced by revisiting the principles of the artist’s loft studio and… the house melts into the mysterious mists of Lake Leman.
Purity of ambiance, fluidity of exchange and continuity of materials seem to erase the borders between the house and its surroundings.
It’s an architectural gamble that paid off for the creative duo, who turned this typical Vaudois house into a living space that is as contemporary as it is welcoming.
A certain sweetness of life is highlighted by the rounded contours that define the volumes. Wood acts as the common thread, combined with noble and authentic materials such as stone. A pleasant invitation to cocoon.
